Abstract
Mangrove Crab (Scylla sp.) is species associated with mangrove forest ecosystems and has high economy value. Seeing that mangrove crab has high economy potential both in domestic and overseas with a high enough level of demand and is supplied by continuous catch in nature, there is a concern about the condition of its population. The aims of this observation are to determine the abundance of mangrove crab and to determine the physic and chemical environmental parameters. The method used was purposive sampling method at three observation stations that were surveyed first.. The result showed that mangrove crabs abundance in the Mangrove Ecotourism Bagek Kembar are 9-12 ind/100 m2. Pysical and chemical parameters of mangrove crab’s habitat in Mangrove Ecotourism Area Bagek Kembar are temperatures ranging from 24,5-28,5oC, pH ranging from 6-6,5 and salinity ranging from 4,2-5‰.
